Please help keep DuPage County Forest Preserve protected lands in a non-industrial state by quickly sending an eMail to the DuPage County Forest Preserve Commissioners. Tell them that you OPPOSE the use of Forest Preserve lands for industrial purposes, especially the use of the McKee Marsh area of Blackwell Forest Preserve for a Fleet Maintenance complex.
Request them to stop plans for construction in fall of 2009 and to find a location that is not on Forest Preserve protected land for the Fleet Maintenance Complex.

The purpose of this email is to request that you register formal
opposition to the planned construction of a Fleet Maintenance complex
in Blackwell Forest Preserve.
We understand that funding for this project is, in large part,
provided by a wetland mitigation agreement with the City of Chicago.
According to Mayor Daley, the purpose of the mitigation funding
is “to create and maintain 90 acres of new, high-quality, publicly
accessible wetlands within DuPage County West Branch Forest preserve…”
Use of these funds to build a Fleet Maintenance complex is not acceptable! |
