I am concerned with the proposed use of forest preserve land for the new vehicle maintenance facility for the Forest Preserve District. It just seems so practical to not take forest preserve land which is limited and instead place a vehicle maintenance garage and complex in an industrial or commercial setting. And you have a more sustainable option with the many different now empty car/truck dealers in DuPage County. I think it is a safe bet that they are not going to be car/truck dealerships and maintenance facilities for any new car or truck companies ever again.

 

So I am asking the forest preserve district to save the little land we have as open space and be more sustainable in your operations by converting an abandoned car/truck dealership along Roosevelt Road or many other spots. Unfortunately there are many to choose from.
