Dear Board Members,
My name is Sara Allen. I am a registered Dupage County voter and a county citizen as my [...] Radcliff Road address can attest to.
I am deeply disturbed to be informed that this board is considering building a 28,000 sq. ft maintenance complex in Blackwell Forest Preserve. It is doubling disturbing to be informed that the Dupage County Forest Preserve Board of Commissioners decision making process is immune from any public impact research regarding the building of a huge and toxic facility. Any other gas station, auto paint shop, oil change facility would never be allowed to break ground so close to preserved marsh lands without public impact and ground impact research.
Rest assured that as a citizen of Dupage County and one who understands that this land was specifically purchased to be "PRESERVED" and "PROTECTED" and not turned into a truck stop -- I will hold this county board personally accountable for the subsequent and inevitable toxic pollution to the surrounding marsh and wildlife.
This board will be remembered as the board that killed the marsh and not the board that upheld protection of this delicate ecosystem as their main charge.
This action is unconscionable.
Put it somewhere where it will NOT destroy the lands you are duty bound to protect.
Signed,
Dr. Sara Allen
